On-Site Energy was founded to support energy intensive manufacturers to achieve their sustainability goals whilst minimising their energy costs.
From our founder’s experience within a NYSE-listed global manufacturing business, developing a focus on energy savings and sustainability is key. Operations and facilities teams are often too close to the problem. They need support and innovation to develop solutions. The scale of the opportunities often surprises them. But then they need to secure the capital investment to realise those opportunities. Competition for capital is usually high, which generally limits payback to 2-3 years.
Our off-balance sheet approach can unlock the opportunities, allowing faster adoption of savings and sustainability gains to accelerate ESG credentials.
We have assembled a team of skilled and experienced energy and sustainability professionals to help identify opportunities.
On-Site is not just a consultancy. We consult, but we also deliver, own, operate and maintain the assets we deploy when under our zero capex model. We have the financial resources to build our projects with our own funding, without the bureaucracy and constraints of bank funding, which allows us to act quickly, commercially and adapt to change rapidly. Because we are working with our own capital, we can be more flexible in our commercial terms than larger energy ESCO suppliers.
We can also support and manage capital projects where our customer wishes to fund themselves.
Our key skill sets are our ‘can-do’ attitude, our innovative approach to developing solutions and our commercial edge arising from our financial independence.
We are not afraid of developing solutions where for other providers the computer says “no”. We have successfully deployed complex solutions that had not been identified or which were regarded as “too difficult” by others.
David Kipling
CEO – On-Site Group
David entered the energy sector in 2009, founding a corporate finance business specialising in renewable energy projects. He undertook project development in utility scale solar PV and wind. Latterly, he enjoyed 5 years with Jabil (NYSE: JBL, www.jabil.com) as a Vice President with a leading role in corporate venturing in distributed commercial energy technologies. He led a team rolling-out an innovative energy savings process across Jabil’s factories globally. In that role he identified the issues preventing listed companies from more widely adopting energy savings opportunities and sustainability measures, which has been a key learning in On-Site Energy’s business model.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989, and was a partner in Kidsons Impey (now RSM) for 5 years.
